Train Museum Assistant

Description:
This position works approximately 7 hours with the children visiting the museum's Little Engineer Playroom each Saturday. The following duties ensure the more than 2,000 annual visitors to the children's room have a safe and enjoyable experience. Duties and responsibilities include: helping the museum's part-time employee with the children visiting the facility by interacting with the children and their parents during the 5 hours the museum is open each Saturday. Additional duties are to prepare the playroom by vacuuming the carpet, sanitizing the toys and benches, and organizing the toys for play prior to the museum opening. After closing this position also helps put the toys away, replaces batteries in locomotives, and cleans the room. Applicant must be available Saturdays, from approximately 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m, enjoy working with children, and dependable. Will be required to complete a packet of information that includes items such as an ETSU application, health form, fingerprinting, and references. Simulation Lab Assistant

This position involves working at the front circulation desk while providing service to library patrons, processing circulating materials, maintaining a neat and orderly appearance of the stacks while shelving and shelf reading, and executing any tasks as assigned accurately and efficiently. This is an active position that will require moving often and multi-tasking. Work varies according to the time of day.
