To enhance the flow of daily operations, the SORC is looking for a dependable individual to assist staff with general clerical duties, which consist of clerical work such as answering phones, greeting visitors, running on-campus errands, housekeeping, making copies, scanning, and other duties as assigned. Candidates should possess the ability to work independently. A working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic office equipment is preferred. Nursing - Simulation Lab

Description:
This position will work in the Nursing Simulation Lab assisting faculty and students with their simulation lab needs and setting-up equipment for simulation lab classes as well as duties assigned by the Simulation Lab Coordinator. The set up and inventory of Simulation Lab equipment allows the Simulation Lab Coordinator ample time to focus on other duties. Must have good interpersonal communication skills; ability to be flexible as needs arise for classroom activities, the physical ability to lift equipment (i.e. mannequins), and comply with ergonomic safety at all times. Individual should also be able to work independently with delegated tasks, as well as participate in team activities. Position requires a responsible individual that will maintain confidentiality in all aspects of this role. Pay rate is $7.25/hr with performance evaluations conducted at the end of each academic year, unless the student chooses to resign or needs to be discharged. Child Study Center Student Assistant

Description:
Student assistants are needed who are interested in being a member of the support team for either the Infant, Toddler, or Preschool programs at the CSC. This entails assisting the full-time teacher in all daily tasks that go together to provide a safe, healthy, positive learning environment for the children. Student workers will be under the supervisor of a Child Care Specialist, Teacher 1, and/or Master Teacher. Responsibilities: stay within sight, sound, and easy reach of the children at all times; housekeeping tasks are undertaken only after attending to immediate needs of the children; communicate with other adults about issues related to the care of the children; supervise/encourage outdoor play; strive to provide appropriate, responsive, respectful care-giving; demonstrate a positive attitude; follow licensing and NAEYC accreditation guidelines for the care of young children, and follow all duties as assigned by CSC staff. Qualifications- take care of appropriate paperwork in a timely manner, follow the dress code as stated in handbook, communicate effectively and in a timely manner with other CSC staff, keep current on all required training, and fulfill the minimum 18-hour in-service requirement. Workers should attend consistently, be on time, communicate about absences, and arrange time off with supervisor. Pay rate is $7.25/hr with performance evaluations conducted at the end of the contract period or if the student chooses to resign or needs discharged.

Laboratory Assistant/Clerical Support

Description:
The student will be employed in the Biological Science Department. The location will be in Brown Hall between rooms 220, 222, 210, 211, 212, 125 and 221. The students will help in the setup of biology labs including Majors 1, 2, 3 and Non-Majors 1 and 2 biology labs. The student will also help with light clerical support and phone answering. Responsibilities will include preparing solutions for laboratory use, cleaning glassware, restocking laboratories with gloves and paper towels, cleaning laboratory table tops, taking inventory, keeping the prep room clean, and helping Graduate Assistants and Faculty with items they might need for a lab. These responsibilities are crucial to keep the laboratories running and up to date. The student needs to be eligible for Federal Work Study. Assistants should have some knowledge of basic laboratory safety and be able to follow oral and written instructions.
