Coordinate and directly leads certification courses in American Red Cross CPR/AED/First for Campus Recreation student employees and American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification for program area student employees. Lead monthly Lifeguard in-services and insures aquatics staff training is within local and state compliance for operation. Oversee pool water testing, chemical supply ordering and proper storage of chemicals. Oversees comprehensive swim lesson program that serves primarily youth participants. Assists with booking reservations for pool including specialty classes, birthday parties, and private groups. Assists with the development, implementation, evaluation and enforcement of all rules and regulations pertaining to aquatics operations. Experience: Two years of experience in aquatic management in a management/lead role. Licensing/Professional Certifications: Lifeguard Instructor and Water Safety Instructor certified. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 pounds. PREFERRED EXPERIENCE: Certified Pool Operator or Aquatic Facility Operator. Supervises 25-35 student lifeguards. America Reads is looking for reading tutors to tutor children in the region who read below a third grade level (primarily K-3) to help foster reading improvement of children in the region. Tutors provide one-on-one and small group reading instruction at schools and community sites in the Tri-Cities Region. Selection of tutors is based upon work-study eligibility, completion of an application, reference checks, willingness to comply with program rules and regulations and commit to tutor responsibilities, and the desire to work with young children. Must have your own transportation to and from sites. A successful completion of a background check is required. Attendance and participation in an orientation and training session are also required. Pay rate is $8.25/hr with performance evaluations conducted at the end of each academic year, unless the student chooses to resign or is discharged.
